The Nigerian Legal System

The Nigerian Legal System is an important academic module and a key foundational course in every Faculty of Law in Nigeria. The Council of Legal Education and the National Universities Commission (NUC) categorized it as a core course that must be passed by law students. Having taught the module for over a decade, the author realized the need for an up-to-date text written in simple, succinct and lucid language. Most texts on the subject are well out of date while others lack basic presentation styles that would enhance students’ mastery and comprehension. This book is especially tailor-made for students. The book contains 14 chapters divided into two parts, each part representing fairly the course exposition for each semester. The language is easy to read and the course content is presented and organized using numbering, bullets and other graphical tools. Each chapter begins with a synopsis that helps the student identify the important takeaways and what to learn from the chapter.
