The New Evidence act although retained some of the old provisions such as section 31, introduced new provisions which cover issues which were not cover by the old act. This is the third edition of this book. The book was first published in 2003 and later in 2010. The need to review the second edition of this book stemmed from the enactment of a new Evidence Act by the National Assembly in 2011. The Evidence Act, No. 18 of 2011 expressly repealed the existing Evidence Act, Cap. E14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004
